Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress wear of photoreceptors while suppressing a reduction in printing quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus having a printing function comprises: photoreceptors; charging rollers that are in contact with the photoreceptors for charging the photoreceptors; exposure devices for forming electrostatic latent images according to input images on the photoreceptors charged by the charging rollers; developing devices for developing the electrostatic latent images formed on the photoreceptors; and a control device for controlling rotation of the photoreceptors. The control device executes, in the input images, a step of detecting an intermediate density part in which a pixel value falls within a predetermined range (S12), and a step of reducing the number of rotations of the photoreceptors before the start of printing as the area of the detected intermediate density part is smaller (S20).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
