Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet droplet observation method and device which can easily observe the states of ink droplets discharged from nozzles of an ink jet head in a short time and perform parameter setting of a new head.SOLUTION: A droplet observation method uses a device which has a photographing section 150 for photographing flight states of ink droplets 300 discharged from nozzles of an ink jet head 500, a light source section 160, and an image synthetic section 190 which superposes and synthesizes a plurality of sheets of photographed images of the ink droplets while synchronizing each discharge state of each ink droplet by the photographing section and the light source section. A plurality of sheets of images indicating the discharge states of the droplets discharged from a plurality of nozzles of the ink jet head are synchronized and photographed. The photographed images are superposed so as to acquire a synthetic image of the ink droplets. State observation of the ink droplets discharged from the plurality of nozzles of the ink jet head or a plurality of ink droplet sizes are observed with the synthetic image at one time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
