Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system that, in short-range radio communication, appropriately connects to a connection destination device desired by a user while suppressing a reduction in convenience of the user.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 50, when connection candidate devices in short-range radio communication are detected S11, determines the number of detected connection candidate devices S13, and determines a pairing method in the short-range radio communication according to the number of the detected devices. When a single connection candidate device is detected as the connection candidate device, the portable terminal determines, as the pairing method, a method not involving work (checking work) where a user of the portable terminal checks a connection destination device in the short-range radio communication S14. Meanwhile, when a plurality of connection candidate devices are detected as the connection candidate device, the portable terminal determines a method involving the checking work as the pairing method S16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
