Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for vehicle capable of suppressing such a situation that the output from a lithium ion battery goes below the power required for actuation of a backup load.SOLUTION: A power supply system for vehicle includes an alternator capable of supplying a power to a load to be mounted on a vehicle, a lead battery connected with the alternator, a lithium ion battery connected with the lead battery and supplying a power to a backup load, and a controller (ECU22). When a determination is made that the lithium ion battery is discharging continuously, the controller measures the discharge characteristics of the lithium ion battery after elapsing a certain time, estimates the current capable of being outputted from the lithium ion battery based on the discharge characteristics, and stops continuous discharge of the lithium ion battery when a determination is made that the current capable of being outputted is smaller than the current required for actuation of the backup load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
