Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination unit that can suppress an error in position of a group of optical elements with respect to an image creation element.SOLUTION: An illumination unit 20 comprises: a group of optical elements 22 to 25 that form a light path for guiding light from a light source to a DMD; and an illumination bracket 26 that holds the group of optical elements 22 to 25. A cylinder mirror 24, of the group of optical elements 22 to 25, is supported by support parts 262 to 264 formed integrally with the illumination bracket 26 and held by the illumination bracket 26. A concave mirror 25, of the group of optical elements 22 to 25, is supported by support parts 264 to 266 formed integrally with the illumination bracket 26 and held by the illumination bracket 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5A
