Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation device that can separate a large amount of toner that is less likely to be adhered to an adhesion part from a developing liquid removed from a forming part by applying an electric field, compared with a case of applying an electric field to a developing liquid including a toner and a carrier liquid removed from a formation part that forms an image by using the developing liquid to cause the toner to be adhered to an adhesion part, and thereby separating the toner from the developing liquid.SOLUTION: A separation device comprises: an adhesion part with which a developing liquid including a toner and a carrier liquid collides and to which a toner separated from the developing liquid is adhered; and a discharge part that discharges a developing liquid removed from a forming part that forms an image by using a developing liquid and causes the developing liquid to collide with the adhesion part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】本発明は、トナー及びキャリア液を含む現像液を用いて像を形成する形成部から除去された現像液に電界をかけトナーを付着部に付着させて、現像液からトナーを分離する場合に比べて、形成部から除去された現像液から電界により付着部に付着し難いトナーを多く分離することができる分離装置の提供を目的とする。【解決手段】分離装置は、トナー及びキャリア液を含む現像液が衝突して現像液から分離したトナーが付着する付着部と、現像液を用いて像を形成する形成部から除去された現像液を排出して前記付着部に現像液を衝突させる排出部と、を備えている。【選択図】図2
