Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of enhancing visibility of a liquid level which is suitable for a case where water is refilled with respect to the lower end of a sleeve (liquid level indicating device) formed from the liquid port of a lead power storage battery to the height of a specified liquid level of electrolytic solution.SOLUTION: In a lead power storage battery in which a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode active material, and an electrolytic solution are housed in a battery case 2, an opening portion of the battery case 2 is sealed by a battery case lid 4 having a liquid port 4a blocked by a liquid port tap 4b, a sleeve 4c is suspended from the liquid port 4a to a specified liquid level of electrolytic solution and water is refilled with reference to a lower end 4d of the sleeve, sodium contained in the electrolytic solution is set in the range from 1 to 90 mmol/l and the specific surface area of positive electrode active material is set in the range from 5 to 9 m/g.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】鉛蓄電池の液口から電解液の規定液面高さまで形成したスリーブ(液面指示装置)の下端を基準として補水を行う場合に適した液面の視認性を向上させる方法を提供する。【解決手段】電槽2の内部に、正極活物質、負極活物質、および電解液を収納し、液口栓4bで塞ぐ液口4aを有する電槽蓋4で、電槽2の開口部を密封し、液口4aから電解液の規定液面高さまでスリーブ4cを垂下し、スリーブの下端4dを基準として補水を行う鉛蓄電池において、電解液に含まれるナトリウムを1〜90mmol/lの範囲とし、正極活物質の比表面積を5〜9m2/gの範囲としたことを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
