Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor that can obtain information for determining an object in detail compared with a prior art.SOLUTION: An optical sensor 2245 comprises: an irradiation system 10 that irradiates a recording sheet with linearly polarized light in a predetermined polarization direction from a direction inclined with respect to the recording sheet; detection means including a light receiving unit 14 (detection system) that individually detects a plurality of rays of light emitted from the irradiation system 10 and reflected on the recording sheet in directions different from each other; and a driving system that changes the positions of the irradiation system 10 and light receiving unit 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
