Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize combustion of an air-fuel mixture and reduce HC emissions immediately after cold start of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine is configured by providing: a timing advance period for advancing ignition timing to air-fuel mixture to the extent that combustion of the air-fuel mixture in a cylinder does not become unstable immediately after start of the internal combustion engine; and a timing delay period for delaying the ignition timing to the air-fuel mixture subsequent to the timing advance period. The ignition timing in the timing delay period is variably controlled in accordance with at least one of timing advance amount of the ignition timing in the timing advance period and the length of the timing advance period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】内燃機関の冷間始動直後における混合気の燃焼の安定化とHCの排出量の削減との両立を図る。【解決手段】内燃機関の始動直後に気筒での混合気の燃焼が不安定化しない限度で混合気への点火のタイミングを進角させる進角期間を設け、なおかつ当該進角期間の後に混合気への点火のタイミングを遅角させる遅角期間を設けることとし、前記遅角期間における点火タイミングを、前記進角期間における点火タイミングの進角量及び前記進角期間の長さのうちの少なくとも一方に応じて可変調整する内燃機関の制御装置を構成した。【選択図】図4
