Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical joint that can splice a butt end of a rebar in a simple configuration without requiring a special structure and a tool.SOLUTION: A mechanical joint S is concerned for splicing butt side ends K1 of multiple rebars K. The mechanical joint S includes a cover member 1, wedge pieces 2 inserted into wedge insertion spaces, and a rotary member 3 for pressing the wedge pieces 2. A pressing part 32 coming in contact or coming close in the outer circumferential point of a minor axis part with multiple wedge pieces 2 disposed between each of the butt side ends K1 and the inner wall of the cover member 1 is rotated. Thereby, the pressing part 32 can displace the pressing part 32 to the press-contacting direction with multiple wedge pieces 2, 2 disposed between each of the butt side ends K1 and the inner wall of the cover member 1 in the outer circumferential point of a major axis part. By this displacement, a distance between the multiple wedge pieces 2 disposed between each of the butt side ends K1 and the inner wall of the cover member 1 is pressed and extended by the pressing part 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
