Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction apparatus in which scattering of solid contents in fermented raw sake during vaporization operation can be suppressed, and thereby causing no problem of sticking of the solid contents to a heating surface of a vapor phase portion of the inner wall of a reaction vessel or of a distillation still.SOLUTION: The reaction apparatus of the present invention comprises: a reaction vessel that produces ethanol by the glycation and fermentation reaction of a biomass in raw material slurry obtained by mixing a biomass raw material with water, and distills the produced ethanol primarily; agitating means that agitates a raw material slurry in the reaction vessel and the obtained fermented raw sake; heating means that is provided around the reaction vessel and heats a raw material slurry or a fermented raw sake for glycation and fermentation reaction or ethanol distillation; a measurement part that measures the liquid level in the reaction vessel; and a control part that on the basis of the liquid level measured by the measurement part, controls the maximum height heated by the heating means so as to be equal to or below the liquid level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】蒸発操作中に発酵醪中の固形分が飛散するのを抑制することができ、反応槽あるいは蒸留釜の内壁の気相部分の伝熱面に固形分が固着する問題が生じない反応装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の反応装置は、バイオマス原料と水とを混合した原料スラリー中のバイオマスを糖化・発酵反応させてエタノールを生成し、生成したエタノールを一次蒸留する反応槽と、反応槽中の原料スラリーおよび得られた発酵醪を撹拌する撹拌手段と、反応槽の周囲に付設され、糖化・発酵反応またはエタノール蒸留のために原料スラリーまたは発酵醪を加熱する加熱手段と、反応槽内の液面高さを測定する測定部と、測定部により測定された液面高さに基づいて、加熱手段によって加熱される上限高さを反応槽内の液面高さ以下に制御する制御部とを具備する。【選択図】図1
