Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of carbon fiber capable of providing a carbon fiber having suppressed fuzz generation and suppressed winding of a fiber bundle to a roll kneader and further less in fuzz and having high quality during flameproofing treatment of a carbon fiber precursor acryl fiber bundle.SOLUTION: An oil agent composition having residual ratio at 250°C of 95% or more and residual ratio at 800°C or 5% or less is added just before introducing a precursor fiber bundle to flameproofing furnace so that kinetic friction coefficient of a carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle becomes 0.15 or less. A ratio d/dof a major axis dand a minor axis dof a fiber surface of a single fiber of the carbon fiber precursor fiber bundle is preferably 1.2 to 1.8 and maximum value of a depth distribution of a surface wrinkle of the single fiber is preferably 150 nm to 250 nm. An oil agent composition preferably contains at least one of cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid alkyl ester with a specific structure or benzoic acid alkyl ester.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】炭素繊維前駆体アクリル繊維束を耐炎化処理するときの、毛羽発生や回転ロールへの繊維束の巻付きが抑制され、さらに毛羽が少なく高品位の炭素繊維束を得ることが可能な炭素繊維の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】前駆体繊維束を耐炎化炉に導入する直前に、炭素繊維前駆体繊維束の動摩擦係数が0.15以下となるように、250℃の残存率が95%以上、800℃の残存率が5%以下である油剤組成物を付与する。炭素繊維前駆体繊維束の単繊維の繊維断面の長径dLと短径dsとの比dL/dsは1.2以上1.8以下が好ましく、前記単繊維の表面皺の深さ分布の最大値は150nm以上250nm以下が好ましい。油剤組成物は、特定の構造のシクロヘキサンジカルボン酸アルキルエステルあるいはヒドロキシ安息香酸アルキルエステルの少なくとも一つを含むことが好ましい。【選択図】なし
