Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer that is precise in size and does not allow paste bleeding, and a manufacturing method for the polarizer.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method comprises a step of offering polishing equipment provided with a base including its top face, a fixing device, a polishing face and a polishing device including a center axis and a reference line perpendicular to the extending direction of the center axis; a step of installing on the top face of the face a laminate including a polarizing unit, edges and a polishing start position; a step of squeeze-holding the laminate between the fixing device and the base, and a polishing step of partly removing edges of the laminate from the polishing start position by polishing at least one edge of the laminate to obtain at least one polarizer.
