Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixation device capable of coping with the paper even having a large width such as an enlarged A3 paper and obtaining sufficient fixability regardless of the paper size.SOLUTION: A thin fixing belt 21 is rotatably supported between belt support members 40. Two halogen heaters 23A, 23B are installed as a first heat source inside the fixing belt 21. A light emitting part of an end part of the halogen heater 23B extends to the outside of a paper feeding area of A3 size in order to suppress a temperature drop of the end part, and is provided with a shield member 42 to suppress an unnecessary heating by the light emitting part. The shield member 42 is provided with planar heating elements 23C, 23D as a second heat source which is turned ON when the paper of a large width size such as an enlarged A3 size is fed through the feeding area. A length of the light emitting part of the end part of the halogen heater 23B is shorter than a length corresponding to the paper having a large width size such as the enlarged A3 paper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】A3ノビ等の広幅サイズの用紙にも対応できるとともに、用紙サイズに拘わらず十分な定着性を得ることができる定着装置を提供する。【解決手段】ベルト保持部材40間に薄肉の定着ベルト21が回転可能に支持されている。定着ベルト21の内部には第一加熱源としての2本のハロゲンヒータ23A、23Bが配置されている。ハロゲンヒータ23Bの端部の発光部は、端部の温度低下を抑制するためにA3サイズの通紙領域の外側に延びており、これによる不要な加熱を抑制するために遮蔽部材42が設けられている。遮蔽部材42にはA3ノビ等の広幅サイズの用紙を通紙するときにONされる第二加熱源としての面状発熱体23C、23Dが設けられている。ハロゲンヒータ23Bの端部の発光部の長さは、A3ノビ等の広幅サイズの用紙に対応した長さよりも短くなっている。【選択図】図3
