Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film type back-light unit used at a flat plate display device.SOLUTION: A thin film type back-light unit of this invention comprises a light guide film, a light outgoing part and a light source. The light guide film comprises a light incident part arranged at one part, a light reflection part arranged at the other part and a light going part connecting the light incident part with the light reflection part. The light outgoing part is arranged on an upper surface of the light guide film. The light source is arranged at the light incident part side of the light guide film. The light incident part transmits the incident light satisfying a condition of total reflection in the light going part in dispersion light outgoing from the light source to the light going part. The light reflection part converts the incident light transmitted from the light going part into collimation light and transmits it to the light going part. The light injection part injects a part of collimation light as backlight and reflects remaining lights.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
