Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery control device of an electric vehicle using only a battery as a driving source, that can prevent unnecessary stopping of the electric vehicle during travelling.SOLUTION: A battery control device of an electric vehicle using only a battery 1 as a driving source and driving a motor 2 to travel, is constituted of: a high-voltage circuit C connecting the battery 1 and the motor 2; a main contactor 3 switching between connection and cut-off of the high-voltage circuit C; voltage sensors 6l-6n detecting voltages of plural battery cells 1l-1n that constitute the battery 1; and a battery management unit 4 cutting off the high-voltage circuit C by the main contactor 3 when the cell voltage detected by the voltage detection sensors 6l-6n is higher than an overvoltage detection threshold X for detecting overcharge of the battery cells 1l-1n. The overvoltage detection threshold X is set to a value larger than a limp-home mode transition determining threshold Y and a full charge threshold Z.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
