Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner in which negatively charged dust is easy to be sucked to a fin of a heat exchanger.SOLUTION: An indoor unit of an air conditioner of the embodiment includes: a negative ion generator which is provided on a downstream side of an air filter in a ventilation flue, which has a negative ion electrode to which a high voltage of a minus potential is applied, and which negatively charges the dust in the air flowing in the ventilation flue; and a heat exchanger which is provided on the downstream side of the negative ion generator in the ventilation flue, which is configured by a tabular fin having electric conductive properties, and to which earth potential is applied as a counter electrode of the negative ion generator and which exchanges heat with the air flowing in the ventilation flue. The negative ion electrode has an electrode needle part protruding in a triangular shape, and in which a direction of a bisector for bisecting a tip part of the electrode needle part is inclined with respect to a normal direction of the fin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
