Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine that can prevent decline in fuel economy while improving acceleration performance by driving an electric compressor.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes: an electric compressor installed in an intake passage; a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel to each cylinder; a battery for supplying electric power to the electric compressor; and a control device for controlling the electric compressor. The control device includes: means for driving the electric compressor when the internal combustion engine is in the steady state; means for calculating pumping loss reduction amount when the electric compressor is driven; means for reducing the amount of fuel injected from the fuel injection valve in accordance with the pumping loss reduction amount; means for and adjusting output from the electric compressor in accordance with an increase rate of charging amount of the battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】電動コンプレッサを駆動して加速性能を向上させつつ燃費の低下を防止することができる内燃機関を提供する。【解決手段】吸気通路に設けられる電動コンプレッサと、各気筒に燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁と、電動コンプレッサを駆動に電力を供給するバッテリと、電動コンプレッサを制御する制御装置と、を備えた内燃機関において、制御装置は、内燃機関が定常状態のときの電動コンプレッサを駆動する手段と、電動コンプレッサを駆動したときのポンピングロス低減量を算出する手段と、ポンピングロス低減量に応じて燃料噴射弁から噴射される燃料を減量する手段と、バッテリの充電量の増加率に応じて電動コンプレッサの出力を調整する手段と、を備えることを特徴とする。【選択図】図3
