Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polybutylene terephthalate having excellent mechanical strength and a film-forming property, and a method for producing polybutylene terephthalate, which enables such polybutylene terephthalate to be obtained efficiently.SOLUTION: The polybutylene terephthalate shows a heat of fusion (ΔHm) of 50 J/g or less in a differential calorimetric measurement, when the temperature is raised from 30°C to 250°C at a rate of 20°C/minute, thereafter kept at 250°C for 5 minutes, lowered to 30°C at a rate 20°C/minute, held at 30°C for 1 minute, and raised again from 30°C to 250°C at a rate of 20°C/minute.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】機械強度および製膜性に優れるポリブチレンテレフタレート、およびかかるポリブチレンテレフタレートを効率的に得ることのできるポリブチレンテレフタレートの製造方法を提供すること。【解決手段】示差走査熱量測定において、30℃から250℃まで昇温速度20℃/分で昇温した後、250℃で5分間保持し、次いで30℃まで降温速度20℃/分で降温した後、30℃で1分間保持し、再び30℃から250℃まで昇温速度20℃/分で昇温したときの融解熱量(ΔHm2nd)が50J/g以下であるポリブチレンテレフタレート。【選択図】なし
