PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader controlling the reading of a document suitably, depending on whether or not such a situation that the document is read at a position causing an abnormal image occurs, and to provide an image reading program.SOLUTION: The position in the main scanning direction where an abnormal value is detected in the reading of a reference board is stored in a storage section. After relative movement of a reading section and a reading document is started, a determination is made whether the reading document passes the position in the main scanning direction to be stored in the storage section. When a determination is made that the reading document passes that position, a predetermined error processing is performed. When a determination is made that the reading document does not pass that position, read operation is continued, and without performing the predetermined error processing, the read data obtained by read operation becomes the read data of the reading document.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】異常画像を生じさせる位置にて原稿が読み取られる状況が生じるか否かに応じて、原稿の読み取りを好適に制御する画像読取装置および画像読取プログラムを提供すること。【解決手段】本発明によれば、基準板の読み取りにより異常値が検出された主走査方向の位置が記憶部に記憶される。読取部と読取原稿との相対的な移動が開始された後、読取原稿が、記憶部に記憶される主走査方向の位置を通過するかの判断が行われる。読取原稿が該当位置を通過すると判断された場合、所定のエラー処理が実行される。一方、読取原稿が該当位置を通過しないと判断された場合、読み取り走査を継続し、所定のエラー処理を実行することなく、読み取り走査により得られた読取データが、読取原稿の読取データとされる。【選択図】図３
