Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a case, such as negotiation of video output equipment or extraction of a connection cable, where a video signal is unexpectedly shut off, or the video output equipment projects plain video at low gradation for a long period, it gets dark when a projector peripheral environment gets dark, and it is inconvenient for a user to perform button operation of a projector body or look for the locations of a remote controller and an illumination switch of a room.SOLUTION: A projector automatically detects an unexpected event; measures illuminance of an installation environment; displays a bright plain image at high gradation under a certain illuminance or less; and utilizes it as an auxiliary illumination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
