Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet in which high near-net shape properties are achieved, and a gap occurring between a housing section and the permanent magnet is reduced when the permanent magnet is installed in the housing section, and to provide a method of manufacturing a permanent magnet, a dynamo-electric machine and a method of manufacturing a dynamo-electric machine.SOLUTION: A compound 17 is produced by pulverizing a magnet material into magnet powder 15, and then mixing the magnet powder thus pulverized and a binder. A green sheet 19 is created by molding the compound 17 thus produced like a sheet. Subsequently, the green sheet 19 thus molded is subjected to magnetic field orientation by applying a magnetic field, and shaped like a product by deforming the green sheet 19 while taking account of the magnetic field orientation direction thereof. Thereafter, a compact 30 thus shaped is housed in a slot 4 and sintered while being compressed in uniaxial direction, thus producing a permanent magnet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
