Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device capable of highly precisely detecting the position of an edge in a width direction of a recording medium.SOLUTION: A printer (inkjet recording device) 100 includes: a first belt transportation unit 5 that transports paper P; a recording unit 9 that jets ink to the paper P which is transported by the first belt transportation unit 5; an edge position detection sensor 60 that is disposed on an upstream side in a paper transportation direction with respect to the first belt transportation unit 5, and detects the position of the edge in a paper width direction crossing the paper transportation direction of the paper P by utilizing reflection light; and a polygonal prism-shaped background member 61 that is oppositely arranged to the detection surface of the edge position detection sensor 60 and can be rotated with an axis extending along the paper width direction as a center.
