Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infusible treatment method suppressed in fusion, also high in an oxygen content and capable of obtaining an infusible-treated product showing excellent discharge capacity when being fired and made into a hardly graphitizable carbon material.SOLUTION: Provided is an infusible treatment method in which a crosslinking-treated product obtained by subjecting the raw material for a hardly graphitizable carbon material is subjected to infusible treatment. Upon the infusible treatment, at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Zn, Bi, Se and Sb is added to the crosslinking-treated product by 100 to 1,000 mass ppm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
