Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter that does not have a dent when it is exposed to a polishing stress or a point-like load, and does not have a local damage.SOLUTION: An optical filter element includes a plate-like element of phosphate glass or fluorophosphate glass. In order to spectrally filter the light passing through the plate-like element, the plate-like element is doped with a light absorption ion of at least one of a copper element, cobalt element, manganese element, iron element, rare earth element, and nickel element. Preferably, the plate-like element includes two parallel-planar surfaces facing each other.
