Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of tempering dental glass or glass ceramic which is high in safety because of not using a molten salt liquid and easily operable.SOLUTION: A method of tempering glass or glass ceramic comprises casting glass or glass ceramic containing a first alkali metal ion by using an investing material containing a second alkali metal ion larger in ionic radius than the first alkali metal ion and keeping at a temperature equal to or higher than the glass transition point and lower than the melting point of the glass or glass ceramic without taking out from the investing material. 【課題】溶融塩融解液を用いないため安全性が高く、且つ操作が簡便な歯科用ガラス又はガラスセラミックの強化方法の提供。【解決手段】第1のアルカリ金属イオンを含むガラス又はガラスセラミックを、該第1のアルカリ金属イオンよりイオン半径の大きい第2のアルカリ金属イオンを含む埋没材を用いて鋳造した後、埋没材から取り出すことなく該ガラス又はガラスセラミックのガラス転移点以上融点未満の温度に保持するガラス又はガラスセラミックの強化方法。【選択図】なし
