Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of combining reduction of a data quantity and suppression of resolution deterioration with each other.SOLUTION: A camera head 10 comprises: spectral means 13 which separates light coming from a subject into three primary colors; an imaging device 14 which images the light of the three primary colors separated by the spectral means 13; a signal generation unit 15 which compresses an imaged image of the three-primary colors generated by the imaging device 14 and generates a G1 signal, a G2 signal, a red signal, and a blue signal; and a signal transmission unit 16 which transmits to a camera control unit 20 the G1 signal, the G2 signal, the red signal, and the blue signal generated by the signal generation unit 15. 【課題】本願発明は、データ量の低減と、解像度劣化の抑制とを両立できる撮影装置を提供する。【解決手段】カメラヘッド10は、被写体からの光を3原色に分光する分光手段13と、分光手段13で分光された3原色の光を撮影する撮像素子14と、撮像素子14が生成した3原色の撮影画像を圧縮し、G1信号、G2信号、赤信号及び青信号を生成する信号生成部15と、信号生成部15が生成したG1信号、G2信号、赤信号及び青信号をカメラコントロールユニット20に送信する信号送信部16とを備える。【選択図】図2
