Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film that has an alignment layer and retardation layer (liquid crystal layer) laminated sequentially on a base material, and can reduce the adhesion between the base material and alignment layer to enable easy peeling of the base material.SOLUTION: A retardation film 1 according to the present invention has an alignment layer 12 and a retardation layer 13 including a liquid crystal composition laminated sequentially on a base material 11, where the liquid crystal composition includes a polymerizable liquid crystal compound and polymerization initiator; and a part of the polymerization initiator in the liquid crystal composition infiltrates into the base material 11 through the alignment layer 12 to be present on the boundary between the base material 11 and alignment layer 12. 【課題】基材と、配向層と、位相差層(液晶層)とを順次積層させた位相差フィルムにおいて、基材と配向層との密着性を弱めて基材を容易に剥離することができる位相差フィルムを提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る位相差フィルム1は、基材11と、配向層12と、液晶組成物を含む位相差層13とが順次積層されてなり、液晶組成物には重合性液晶化合物と重合開始剤とが含まれており、その液晶組成物中の重合開始剤の一部が、配向層12を介して基材11に浸透して、その基材11における配向層12との界面に存在してなる。【選択図】図1
