Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a motor vehicle having at least one component which is subject to an operation-dependent aging process.SOLUTION: A connection between a load profile (202) of at least one component and damage resulting therefrom is determined (205), and the damage to the at least one component is estimated from the determined connection, and an operating strategy (204) for operating the motor vehicle is set on the basis of the estimated damage to the at least one component (220).
