Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect inspection method for a cast material capable of simply detecting defects existing in the inside of a case material immediately after casting.SOLUTION: A defect inspection method for a cast material includes: a cooling step in which the jet flow of cooling liquid 410 is injected directly to a cast material 100 immediately after continuous casting and at least a part of the surface of the cast material 100 is temporarily cooled; a removal step for removing the cooling liquid 410 remained in a cooled area on the surface of the case material 100 after injecting the cooling liquid 410; and a detection step in which the cooled area of the cast material 100 is observed after removing the cooling liquid 410 and defects are detected on the basis of difference in the surface temperature between a defect portion having the defects in the cooled area and a normal portion having no defect. 【課題】鋳造直後の鋳造材の内部に存在する欠陥を非破壊で簡易に検出することができる鋳造材の欠陥検査方法を提供する。【解決手段】鋳造材の欠陥検査方法は、連続鋳造直後の鋳造材100に冷却液410の噴流を直接噴射して、鋳造材100の表面の少なくとも一部を一時的に冷却する冷却工程と、冷却液410の噴射後、鋳造材100の表面の冷却領域に残存する冷却液410を除去する除去工程と、冷却液410の除去後、鋳造材100の冷却領域を観察して、冷却領域での欠陥が存在する欠陥部分と存在しない正常部分との表面温度の差に基づいて欠陥を検出する検出工程と、を備える。【選択図】図1
