Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve handleability by reducing bulk of a core material of a vacuum heat insulating material and to suppress deterioration of heat insulating performance.SOLUTION: A vacuum heat insulating material is configured by: a core material 51 made of fiber assembly; an adsorbent 54 for adsorbing gas or moisture; and an external coating material 53 for accommodating the core material 51. The fiber assembly is formed by an end part 60 comprising a plurality of outer sides and a central part 61 surrounded by the end part 60. In the core material 51, the density of the fiber assembly in the end part 60 to which compression processing is applied is higher than the density of the fiber assembly in the central part 61, and the adsorbent 54 is disposed at the central part 61 of the core material 51 accommodated in the evacuated external coating material 53. Also, needle punch processing is applied to the fiber assembly, and the density of the needle punch processing is low in the central part of the fiber assembly, and the density of the needle punch processing is high in the end part. 【課題】真空断熱材の芯材の嵩を小さくすることで取り扱い性を良くするとともに、断熱性能の低下を抑制すること。【解決手段】繊維集合体から成る芯材51と、ガス又は水分を吸着する吸着剤54と、芯材51を収納する外被材53と、から構成され、繊維集合体は、複数の外辺からなる端部60と、端部60に囲まれた中央部61と、から形成され、芯材51は、圧縮加工を施された端部60における繊維集合体の密度が、中央部61における繊維集合体の密度よりも高くなっており、真空引きされた外被材53に収納された芯材51の中央部61に吸着剤54が配設される構成である。また、繊維集合体には、ニードルパンチ加工が施されており、繊維集合体の中央部ではニードルパンチ加工の密度が低く、端部ではニードルパンチ加工の密度が高いものである。【選択図】図1
