PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust protecting device for ceiling work capable of preventing foreign matter falling from an opening part of a ceiling from sticking on a floor surface.SOLUTION: There is provided a dust protecting device for ceiling work which closes an opening part 11 formed in a ceiling 1 from below, the dust protecting device for ceiling work including a side wall part 5 provided on the ceiling 1 and surrounding an area 7 extending downward from the opening part 11, and a bottom part 6 provided facing the opening part 11 and closing the opening part 11 from below together with the side wall part 5. In the bottom part 6, a through hole is formed which is large enough for a worker to enter, and the side wall part 6 is composed of a balloon which can be filled with nitrogen and can discharge it, and expands and shrinks in a height direction as the nitrogen is charged and discharged.
