Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extrusion raw material supply device capable of satisfying both product quality and productivity at a higher level, and a manufacturing method for an optical transmission body using the device.SOLUTION: An extrusion raw material supply device 1 comprises: a hopper 2 in which a raw material rod R is housed; a heating/melting section 4 which is provided for a downstream side of a plastic raw material housing part 3 of the hopper 2 and heats/melts a lower end portion of the raw material rod R; heating means 8 for heating the heating/melting section 4; and gas pressurizing means 5 for sequentially supplying melted resin M to a metal mold by gas pressure. An inner surface at the lower end of the plastic raw material housing part 3 has a constant cross-sectional shape by which the raw material rod R can be loosely fit. An inner diameter at the upper end of the heating/melting section 4 and an inner diameter at the lower end of the plastic raw material housing part 3 are made equal to each other. An inner circumference shape of the heating/melting section 4 is in an inverted conical shape, and an angle of a cone of an inverted conical section 4b is set to 70 to 105°. |
