Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily correspond an ultrasonic image to a reference image of other diagnostic apparatus displayed on the same screen.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes coordinate calculation means for: installing a reference coordinate system of a source of a position sensor parallel to a volume image data coordinate system (S101); setting a first reference point and a second reference point respectively at feature points in which an ultrasonic image corresponds to a reference image displayed on display means (S102 and S103); corresponding the ultrasonic image coordinate system to the volume image data coordinate system in such a manner that the position of the first reference point is made to match the position of the second reference point (S104 and S105); and calculating the coordinate of the reference image corresponding to the coordinate of the ultrasonic image based on the position and the inclination of an ultrasonic probe detected by the position sensor. It generates the reference image by extracting tomographic image data corresponding to the coordinate of the reference image calculated by the coordinate calculation means from the volume image data.
