PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium information registration system and the like which can accurately detect a colony and the number of colonies even if a type of a colony to be detected is unknown when detecting the colony from an image of a medium.SOLUTION: A hygiene control system S comprises: a plurality of portable communication terminal devices 10 which are used in registering medium information of each film type medium 60; an administrator terminal device 20; and a server device 40 which has a database 400 and performs registration management of the medium information. The server device 40 includes a configuration comprising the steps of: identifying an attribute of a colony based on a medium image; retrieving characteristic information coincided with the attribute of the identified colony from the database 400; and detecting colonies from the medium image and executing the counting of the colonies on the basis of the profile information obtained by the retrieval.
