Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fast reactor vessel which achieves safety improvement by increasing the capability to cool a high-temperature core catcher and a molten fuel at an upper part of the core catcher when fuel melting occurs.SOLUTION: A fast reactor vessel includes: a core of a fast reactor; a coolant cooling the core; a floor-like member supporting the core; and a retaining member which is provided under the floor-like member as a boundary and which retains a molten fuel when meltdown occurs. A communication part for communicating between an upper part and lower part of the floor-like member and a flow channel for introducing the coolant at the upper part of the floor-like member to a lower part of the retaining member are provided in order to circulate the coolant so as to cool the molten fuel retained by the retaining member.
