Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint having an effective and appropriate structure for installing a vibration damper in a form of operating by torque transmission, such as an inertial mass damper, in a structure.SOLUTION: A rotation regulation mechanism 11 for regulating relative rotation of a spherical head part 5 to a ball receiver 6 is installed at a position of a virtual circle as a cross line between a virtual plane that is orthogonal to the axial direction of a ball stud 4 and passes through the center of the spherical head part and a peripheral surface of the spherical head part. The rotation regulation mechanism comprises: an engagement hole 12 formed on the peripheral surface of the spherical head part; and a regulation bolt 13 having a tip serving as an engagement projection 13a that can be inserted to the engagement hole and has a circular cross section. The engagement hole is formed as an oblong hole that has a major axis long in the axial direction of the ball stud. Engagement of the engagement hole with the engagement projection constricts the relative rotation in the peripheral direction of the virtual circle of the spherical head part to the ball receiver, and allows relative displacement of the engagement hole to the engagement projection within the range of the major axis. |
