Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a photocatalyst functional material capable of, after forming a photocatalyst layer, activating the photocatalyst layer, and of improving adhesiveness of the same to a substrate.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the optical catalyst functional material 11 comprises a step of preparing a substrate 1 such as a non-woven fabric substrate, woven fabric substrate, filmy substrate having a three-dimensional structure on a surface thereof, flat surface substrate, etc.; a step of forming a photocatalyst material layer atop an entire or a portion of the surface of the substrate 1; and a step of forming a photocatalyst layer 3 having a photocatalytic function by plasma-treating the photocatalyst material layer. In the photocatalyst layer forming step, a discharge gas used for the plasma treatment includes an argon gas, carbon dioxide gas, carbon monoxide gas, nitrogen gas, ammonia gas, carbon tetrafluoride, sulfur hexafluoride, or a mixture of these gases. At this time, it is preferable for the plasma treatment to be performed by disposing a pair of electrodes on one or both surface sides of the optical catalyst material layer. It is also permissible to form an inorganic layer atop the entire or a portion of the surface of the substrate 1. |
