Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for quickly charging a power storage unit and leveling consumption of system power.SOLUTION: A power supply system comprises: a power storage unit which performs charging by consuming system power supplied from an electric power company and supplies power by performing discharging; a power storage unit control unit for controlling charging and discharging of the power storage unit; and a load unit which consumes the system power supplied from the electric power company or the power supplied by discharging by the power storage unit. The power storage unit control unit can charge the power storage unit by successively performing a preliminary charge stage in which the power storage unit is charged with small power and a main charge stage in which the power storage unit is charged with large power. The power storage unit control unit starts the preliminary charge stage of charging the power storage unit during an operation period of a specific load included in the load unit.
