Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processing machine capable of suppressing a deterioration in processing efficiency.SOLUTION: Received money carrying means for feeding a bank bill and carrying the received money from a money reception part 21 constitutes a portion of payment carrying means 53 for feeding bank bills stored in storage parts 35 to 37 to perform payment carrying when one part passing through an identification part 28 carries the bank bills in a reverse direction to a received money carrying direction, the received money carrying means 53 has a front/back reversing part 43 capable of reversing the direction of the bank bills on an upstream side of a branch point to an alignment part 30 and on a downstream side of the identification part 28, and the bank bills to be subjected to payment carrying from the storage parts 35 to 37 are caused to pass through the front/back reversing part 43 when the direction of the bank bills identified by the identification part 28 has to be reversed.
