Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device for a boiler which suppresses NOx generation upon boiler starting, boiler stopping, and at a condition of a boiler load where an amount of air introduced in a furnace of the boiler for combustion becomes excessive relative to an amount of fuel introduced in the furnace of the boiler.SOLUTION: In a combustion device for a boiler, exhaust gas guided to a furnace bottom of the boiler through a re-circulation gas pipe 13 branching from an exhaust gas pipe with an upstream end connected to an exit of the boiler is partially transferred from the furnace bottom into the furnace. A re-circulation gas introduction port 16a disposed on a downstream end of the re-circulation gas pipe 13 is provided with a throttle mechanism 17 which adjusts a sectional area of a channel for the passing exhaust gas.
