Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arsenic adsorbent capable of efficiently adsorbing and immobilizing arsenic contained in a leaching liquid or residual liquid of solvent extraction in heap leaching or bacteria leaching.SOLUTION: This objective arsenic adsorbent is obtained by adding a Cu(II)-containing solution to a solution containing Fe(II) and Fe(III), for example, a solution obtained from a leaching and SX process to react at pH 3 to 4 and 60-70°C. It is preferable that the density of Fe(II) is ≤2/3 of the whole Fe density, and a Cu(II) density after addition is ≥1/10 of the Fe(II) density.
