PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a die formed by wire cutting work and capable of suppressing aging dimensional change, and to provided the die.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method includes a molding step S1 of molding a die, and a dimensional change suppressing step S2 of performing a heat treatment for suppressing aging dimensional change after the molding step S1. The molding step S1 includes a quenching treatment S11 of quenching a coarsely worked die material, a tempering treatment S13 of tempering the die material after the quenching treatment S11, and a working step S15 of wire-cutting the die material after the tempering treatment S13 to mold the die. In order to improve the state of a heat affected zone formed from a worked surface to the inside by the wire cutting work, in the dimensional change suppressing step S2, as the heat treatment for suppressing the aging dimensional change, a moderate temperature tempering treatment is performed at a tempering temperature of 350 to 400°C.
