Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjustment system which can suppress the release failure of the regulation of a relative turn between a housing and a vane rotor.SOLUTION: An electronic control device 102 for the valve timing adjustment system 12 determines whether inflow pressure exceeds an upper limit in a regulation releasable pressure region if relative turn regulation is not released when a specific time elapses after opening and closing timing adjustment control during relative turn regulation is started. When the determination is made, the electronic control device 102 lowers the pressure of the hydraulic oil of advance angle hydraulic chambers 34-38 by actuating a relief valve 98 so that inflow pressure is lowered. Accordingly, since torque acting on a vane rotor 52 is reduced and a lock pin 64 easily comes off from a fitting recess 46 of the housing 16, the relative turn regulation between the housing 16 and the vane rotor 52 can be released. |
