Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure film thickness of a liquid sealant held on a mating face of three faces of a cylinder block, a cylinder head and a chain case to improve sealing performance.SOLUTION: At a position that is interposed between a first and second bolts 25 and 26 which fasten the chain case 23 to the cylinder block 11 and the cylinder head 12, a first recess 23e is formed at a third cut surface 23d of the chain case 23 and both ends of the first recess 23e are extended up to near the first and second bolts 25 and 26, so that, even if a step is present between a first cut surface 11c of the cylinder block 11 and a second cut surface 12c of the cylinder head 12, the step is absorbed in the first recess 23e, allowing the film thickness of the liquid sealant 28 to be secured, and in the vicinity of seat surfaces of the first and second bolts 25 and 26 where the film thickness becomes thinner, displacement of the liquid sealant 28 is suppressed by axial force of the first and second bolts 25 and 26, so that wear and exfoliation of the liquid sealant 28 is prevented at that portion, resulting in the sealing performance at a mating part of the three faces being improved.
