Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation generating apparatus and a radiation generating method capable of simplifying a structure of the apparatus and improving a radiation generation efficiency.SOLUTION: A radiation generating apparatus comprises: a fuel storage part 20 which stores a mixture 61; a pressure application part 10 which applies pressure to the mixture 61; a jet flow forming part 30 which forms jet flow of the mixture 61; a reaction part 44 in which the jet flow of the mixture 61 is formed; pressure adjustment part 41 which sets pressure in the reaction part 44 lower than internal pressure in the jet flow forming part 30; and a light source part 45 which irradiates a particle group 63a with laser beam L1. Fuel particles 63 generates desired radiation by performing irradiation with the laser beam L1. In the reaction part 44a, plural fuel particles 63 are moved along the jet flow, liquefied gas and fluid are moved in a direction departing from the plural fuel particles 63, thus forming the particle group 63a. |
