Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element and a photoelectrochemical cell which exhibit high IPCE and achieve high photoelectric conversion efficiency in a wavelength region exceeding 800 nm and also excel in durability, and a dye used therein.SOLUTION: In the photoelectric conversion element, at least one kind of dyes adsorbed to an electrode has a structure expressed by the formula (1) below. (In the formula, Q represents an aromatic ring; X, Xrepresent a sulfur atom, selenium atom, oxygen atom or CRR, where R, Rrepresent alkyl groups; R, R' are alkyl or aromatic groups; Prepresents a specific atom group; P, unlike P, represents a specific atom group needed to form a polymethine dye; Wrepresents a counter ion when needed to neutralize a charge.) |
