Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer tube for refrigerant in which a volume occupied by the heat transfer tube is reduced, thereby the quantity of the heat transfer tube for the refrigerant and refrigerant flowing through the same can be reduced without lowering the capability of the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger using the same, and a method for designing the heat transfer tube for the refrigerant.SOLUTION: The heat transfer tube for the refrigerant has a plurality of fins arranged in the inner peripheral surface of the heat transfer tube for the refrigerant used in the heat exchanger and a plurality of groove parts arranged between the respective fins and is characterized in that an outer diameter of the heat transfer tube is 3 to 4 mm, the ratio of the groove depth to the groove bottom inner diameter is 0.03 to 0.06, and the ratio of a middle groove width to the groove bottom inner diameter is 0.03 to 0.27. The heat exchanger using the same and the method for designing the heat transfer tube for the refrigerant are also disclosed.
