Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for transmitting an indicator of channel quality while minimizing the use of a broadcast communication channel.SOLUTION: An access terminal 404 observes transmission from an access point 412 (408); and determines power of transmission that the access terminal receives, and forward link channel quality. The access terminal 404 selects an access sequence randomly from a group corresponding to a determined channel quality value among access sequence groups; and transmits a preamble of the selected access sequence with the channel quality value to the access point 412 (410). On the basis of them, the access point 412 transmits a receipt notification to the access terminal 404 at an adequate power level (416). |
