Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform electrochemical evaluation of a sample introduced to a well with sufficient workability.SOLUTION: In a well unit 1, a well 2 is formed, and the well unit 1 includes an electrode 3 on the surface of the well 2. Metal wire 4 is embedded in the well unit 1, cutting work is performed to the well unit 1 so as to cut the metal wire 4 to form the well 2 in the well unit 1. Then, a cross section of the cut metal wire 4 is used as the electrode 3. The sample is introduced to the well 2, potential of the electrode 3 is controlled so that the potential of the electrode 3 becomes oxidation-reduction potential to be measured, and a value of current which flows to the electrode 3 is measured. Then, the electrochemical evaluation of the sample to be measured and evaluation of electrode catalytic activity are performed based on the value of the current. As the sample to be measured, a biological material such as fertilized eggs of mammals and an inorganic ion, etc. are exemplified.
